Al Bayader wanted to move from a disconnected workplace to a more unified team. But messy workflows, different teams using different tools, and relying on WhatsApp for work made things confusing and slowed everyone down. A big part of the problem was the company’s outdated intranet—it was hard to navigate, important resources were hidden, and the design wasn’t user-friendly.
I created a modern, easy-to-use intranet homepage with:
✅ A flexible layout that can grow with the company
✅ A built-in communication hub with tool integrations
By talking to employees, planning carefully, and refining the design based on feedback, I delivered interactive prototypes and style guides to help Al Bayader roll out the new system across the company.
Problem
A Messy Workplace
Al Bayader employees had a hard time finding what they needed because:
The company needed one easy-to-use place where employees could find information, talk to each other, and work better together.
Solution
A New, Simple Intranet
Easy to update layout so teams can make it work for them.
A flexible layout that allowed easy updates and scalability for future expansion.
Easily accessible communication hub to consolidate all
Integrated API connections to bring critical updates and team discussions into a central location.
My Process
Discovery & Research
To understand what wasn’t working, I interviewed marketing team employees and walked through their daily tasks to see how they used the intranet and where they struggled.
🔑 Key Insight
Employees didn’t need another website to spend time on—they needed a fast, easy-to-use portal that got them to the right tools and information without the hassle.
Planning and Strategy
Using these insights, I developed a strategy focused on:
🔹 Prioritizing frequently accessed resources based on usage patterns.
🔹 Designing modular components that could be easily customized by different teams.
Challenges
The Usual Suspects
Like any big project, the Al Bayader intranet redesign had its fair share of challenges:
🔹 Deadlines and requirements kept changing.
🔹 Getting feedback took longer than expected.
🔹 We had to balance consistency with department-specific needs.
🔹 The design needed to work in both English and Arabic.
Even though the project was put on hold before full development, I tackled these challenges with patience and flexibility. I focused on keeping stakeholders engaged, adapting to shifting priorities, and making sure the design wasn’t just functional—but built to last.
My Impact
A Faster, Better Way to Work
🚀 Employees now find what they need in 5 minutes instead of 16 minutes.
🚀 No more WhatsApp for work—everything is in one place.
🚀 More people actually use the new intranet because it’s simple.
🚀 It can grow with the company and be used by all teams.
